Live chat support was asking for SSN to get a promotional deal involving an ipad

Is this correct? Could someone review the live chat i was involved in to confirm if this is correct or not?

Concern moved here to the Customer Sevice help section for assistance.

user_sa3y21 thank you for using the Community Forums page to reach out. We have gone away from using the SSN as a form of authentication for security reasons in most departments. That said, we can check to see if your customer timeline is displaying the chat with one of our representatives. If not, you may have been speaking with a potential bad actor which we would recommend to report to our CSA (Customer Security Assurance) team.
