Link for written complaint needed
after a very unsatisfactory agent chat on October 24, 2026, I need to follow up with a written complaint which will lead to resolution of several specific concerns. I can find nowhere to do this. Is it better to go straight to FCC?
Here is the text of my complaint:
On October 24, while using Xfinity’s website to troubleshoot an internet and TV outage, I was directed by a human chat agent to enter my Social Security number and date of birth through a secure link. The request was presented to me as part of resolving my existing service problem.
The agent repeatedly pushed me to obtain a card. I explicitly refused several times, stating that under no circumstances did I want a card.
I am concerned that my personal information may have been collected for a credit application or other Xfinity services that I did not knowingly authorize.
Please investigate and confirm in writing:
- Whether a credit application, credit inquiry, new account, or financial product enrollment was initiated in my name.
- The purpose of the link through which I submitted my personal information, and the identity of the company that received it.
- Whether any credit inquiry was made and, if so, by whom.
- That the full chat transcript, including the AI assistant’s actions and the human agent’s messages, will be preserved for investigation.
- What steps will be taken to address the outage and the agent’s conduct.
I expressly declined any credit card or other financial product. I did not knowingly consent to a credit application or any additional services. My outage problem (no internet or cable tv) was actually caused by the AI agent, and 4 hours in chat with a human agent did not resolve the problem. Please treat this as a formal complaint and provide a case number and written response.
