Lightning Strike - second time.

For a second time in just over a year. The street side tap took a lightning strike that destroyed all of your equipment, plus 2 tvs, xbok, 2 Blu-ray player and nintendo switch.

I'm certain that there is something to l that can be done to stop this from happening. Not only excessively frustrating, dangerous, as sparks were emitted from the equipment. I enjoy your service, but not at the cost of burning down our house.

@user_ac6178 Have you considered adding your electronic devices to a surge protector? I lost 3 TVs due to a power surge. I added the surge protector and I no longer worry about our devices during a storm.

Everything is surge protected. However the cable line isn't, so it hits the box then travels via HDMI to all the devices.

And really, doesn't Comcast have and protection on it's equipment?

We currently have a device that is dedicated for keeping internet signal when there is an interruption or power outage. Unfortunately we do not have anything to protect the cable boxes. That is why we suggest a surge protector. If the TV and cable box are both connected to a surge protector, the surge protector should work in protecting both the box and TV since it prevents any surge of electricity going to any connected device. If both were connected you might want to reach out to the surge protectors manufacturer.
