Lightning Strike Destroyed Equipment

A recent lightning storm passed through my area tonight.  An exceptionally large strike landed near my home, and a surge was sent up the coaxial line into my home feeding my cable modem.  As a result, my modem, router, television, receiver, set top box, gaming consoles, UPS, and assorted lights were all destroyed.  I would love to discuss with someone some solutions that can be found towards rectifying this issue.
