Lightning damaged modem

Last night 07/28/2023 at about 10:20pm central time. We had a lightning strike hit the building or very close as we could hear the loud crack and sudden boom. Power didn't go out.  Turns out the modem and things connected to it were damaged. I believe it had something to do with the coax cable line.  Modem which had coax cable hooked up and the ethernet line to the wifi router is not powering up.  Aldi the cable box in another room on different outlet is not powering on.   The building is a 4 unit condo type residence.  All my neighbors have said the same thing with their modems.  Scheduled a technician to come out but not sure if there's anything else I need to do or what's needed

We have monsoon storms in our area and even though it was about 116 degrees yesterday we got hail! Storms are so scary and the damages they cause is mind-blowing sometimes! I am glad that you have scheduled a technician appointment @FuzzyWuzzy78 and I would suggest your neighbors do the same. 

 

With the appointment, an adult (18 years of age or older), who can approve account decisions and changes, needs to be present for the duration of the appointment, any furniture that needs to be moved would have to be moved already for the technician so they can access the equipment and if you have any pets if you could have them secured while the technician is on site. 

 

Just so you are aware can also use your Xfinity app to receive up to date information about your technician appointment. You can also use the Xfinity app to pay your bill, troubleshooting your account, manage appointments, and other features to manage your account as well. I use it all the time and love it! It is very convenient! 

 

I will also set up a follow up to follow up with you to make sure everything went well and everything is working for you at that time. What day and time is the appointment?
