Landscaping Utility Easement

I would like to place 1 or 2 landscape boulders (measuring approximately 2-3 feet wide by 1.5 feet high, by 1.5 feet deep) on top of my residential utility easement.  Comcast is the only utility with a line buried in this easement.

Am I allowed to place the boulders (as my neighbors have done) or would this be considered as interfering with Comcast's access?

If I do place the boulders, if Comcast needs to work on this area, will they move the boulder(s) and place them back again when done?  Or use will Comcast use hydroexcavation or another method to tunnel beneath the boulders?

Thank you user_29l4yd for reaching out via our Xfinity Community Forums today. We appreciate you reaching out before you make any changes to your landscaping.  While I understand the appeal of adding landscape boulders, it’s important to ensure that Comcast can access the utility easement without any obstructions. Placing boulders on the easement could interfere with our ability to service the lines if needed, and we ask that you do not make any changes to the utility box or the easement space around them. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. We are here to help.

Thank you for your rapid response.  I greatly appreciate the clarification.  FYI - the utility box is more than 45 feet away (on the neighbor's property).

user_29l4yd You are most welcome, we are happy to help! My recommendation would be to contact your local 811 service. Even though you aren't digging, they would be able to help you with identifying were the lines are. This way if there are lines, then you can navigate from there with your boulders. I hope this helps, please feel free to let us know if there is anything we can help with!
