Why was my landline cancelled on 3/1/2022 without my permission and why can't I get back my old number

Hello, @user_c66c10. I am sorry to hear that your phone was removed and you wanted to keep it. We have the order approvals that we send out before we can make changes that show what is being done. They are made, in part, to try and prevent anything like that from happening. I have helped with lost phone numbers before. Sometimes they are lost for good but I am hoping that is not the case. Sometimes we have to add the phone service back to your account with a new number and then put in a ticket to have your previous number restored. Do you already have the phone service (with a temporary number) added back to your account or has that not been done yet?

@XfinityRay​  I never gave an order, nor did I confirm the order once I saw it in my email. The whole thing was done without my permission , not to get into detail but I use this number for business and this  could result in thousands of dollars of lost business. Worst yet I was out of town and could not handle immediately. I have a number waiting to be approved but a different number does me no good.

I never gave an order nor did I ever approve the order when I saw it in my email. Yes I have a temporary number waiting my approval, but that does me no good as the number I had is on over 1000 business cards. I also have clients in who had my phone number plus ads that had my phone number, this could literally cost me thousands of dollars in lost business.

I would love to help further with this, @user_c66c10. We have ways to report any fraudulent activity on an account and can help with a ticket to get your number restored. The different number is part of the process to get your number restored. We have to have phone service and a number on your account before we can request your number be put back on there. Sometimes it will generate as we add it back but other times a ticket is needed for that. Let's get working on this right away, the sooner the better so you can get your business calls.

This just happened to us.  We’re you ever able to get your phone number back?  We’ve had this number for 30 years!  I can’t even wrap my brain around how much is tied to this number.

@user_43dd06​ I did get my number back, took about 2 weeks. They will claim they can't but you have to press them. I had a whole business that revovled around this number and it was unacceptable what they did. They never explained how it happened and they kept trying to blame me, when in fact they did it without my permission. You have to get a different number first, if you do not already have, and then they can change it back to the old number. Good luck.
