Junction/Pedestal Box Issue
We have lived in our home for 8 years and there’s always been a green Comcast junction/pedestal box in the corner of our backyard. Access to the box has never been an issue for any Comcast tech. Last week, someone from Comcast construction came to inform us that they needed to run a new line from the pedestal in our yard to one of our neighbors. Yesterday, they came and said they were going to re-run the line through the front yard due to our backyard hedges. Today, without any prior notice, upon completing their job they placed another green Comcast junction/pedestal box in front of our home.
We are extremely upset because we take great pride in our home and Comcast has devalued our home by placing this eyesore in front of our property, front and center. There was a perfect spot between us and our neighbor – where they had already dug into as part of the process. But instead, they chose the front of our house. We asked if they could move the pedestal closer to one of our trees, but they said they couldn’t. We asked if they could put a smaller box, but they said they couldn’t.
AT&T goes around placing their fiber junction boxes without a pedestal because it’s all underground. Just like the water connection, AT&T uses a manhole cover/vent. We would like Comcast to come and switch out this pedestal for an underground manhole cover. To add insult to injury, you placed a cover that has graffiti all over the front.
Your team told me a reconstruction team would come bring us sod to replace our damaged grass, but I could care less right now about that – WE NEED this green junction/pedestal box MOVED. Just because it’s on an easement does not mean you should make it as hideous as possible for the homeowner. Now we have to endure this eye sore just because a neighbor needed internet? How is that fair? We really need someone to please look into this and rectify our issue immediately.
I do not want to post any photos or videos for privacy reasons, but would be more than happy to send them privately.
Thank you

Thank you for reaching out to us @eg12345! We regret to hear a cover that has graffiti on the front was installed. The box might be installed in a location necessary based on how our lines are run in your neighborhood. Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? We’d like to take a further look at our available options for this pedestal. To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it.

Update:
I DMed Aldrik who opened a case for me. I received a text message confirming the case had been opened. Within a few minutes, another text came in saying the case was closed. I contacted Aldrik again, and he said that a technician had been dispatched for today from 1p-3pm. to come look at the issue.
In the evening we noticed flashing lights near our house. It was the county's water/sewer department's emergency team. It turns out that the crew broke our neighbor's water main and tried to patch it up, but it was still leaking.
This morning, another crew from the construction subcontractor showed-up. They said that they were going to install an in-ground junction box. He stated that the prior crew should have never placed that pedestal there.
Everything looks fine now - no more eyesore.
For the record, no one from Comcast ever showed-up today.
Since the contractors made right, I'll consider this issue solved.
