Is this real?

I recently called Xfinity customer service line to try to change my service. It instantly redirected me to a call center claiming to be a third-party device insurance protection center who immediately kept trying to sell me some yearly service and get me to give them a credit card number. One lady claimed they were an Affiliate of DIRECTV, another claimed that I must’ve just fat fingered the number and “it happens all the time.” I literally went to Xfinity’s website (the same one I go to to view my account info) and clicked on the phone number link from my phone, so I didn’t dial the number in. All three times I got sent to this call center. Is this a scam ?

@user_b2eb48 Hello! This definitely sounds very interesting, and we have not heard any other reports that contacting us reroutes you to any other provider as an affiliate. What phone number are you dialing when you try to reach us? Our support number is (800)934-6489.

@XfinityBenjaminM This happened to me too. Tried to book service appointment and got routed to a third party "Xfinity affiliate" which turned out to be fraudulent.
