Is returning equip breaking contract

I am down one TV and thinking about not replacing it.  If I return a x1 TV box (I have multiple due to multiple tvs) am I breaking the contract?  Everything else is staying the same in regards to having a TV plan and Internet, I'm only thinking about reducing the number of X1 TV Boxes utilized.  Thanks.
