iPhone Temporarily Blacklisted Account Message

When trying to look at my email on my iPhone it won't update emails and says Server code "ALERT", server message "Temporarily blacklisted IP address. I have unplugged my modem and router and restarted them, I have deleted my mail account on my iPhone and reinstalled, I have changed my password for my email, nothing works. I can look at my email on my laptop with no problems and if I shutoff my Wi-Fi and use my data on my iPhone it will load my emails.

Same issue.  The only think that works is turning off your WIFI.   this is an issue with Non Xfinity Modems.  Thousands and thousands of posts here with no resolution.   We still have this problem daily and are in the process of transitioning from Xfinity Mail to GMAIL and then will be removing our Xfinity services

Same issue.   Only happens when I connect via Cox Communications ISP.    Works fine with any other ISP or cellular.

Multiple methods, all but #5 work 100% of the time:

1) through the website (connect.xfinity.com) or using outlook configured for IMAP from any PC, works fine.   No problems

2) through the apple mail app (imap.comcast.net) over cellular.   No problems.

3) through the apple mail app (imap.comcast.net) over wifi via xfinity ISP.   No problems

4) through the apple mail app (imap.comcast.net) over essentially any public wifi.   No problems

but

5) through the apple mail app (imap.comcast.net) over wifi via Cox Communications ISP, "Cannot Get Mail" with the explanation that the IP address has been temporarily blacklisted.

The complete text is

Cannot Get Mail

The mail server "imap.comcast.net" is not responding.   Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings.

Server code "ALERT", server message "Temporarily blacklisted IP Address - try again later"

Thank you so much for sharing all those specific details, @user_a57a3e! That does sound like something from the Cox Communication is blocking the mail client while connected to their network. I would recommend following the link here to report the blacklisted site, but it may come back to the other provider blocking something while on that connection. If you are able to further troubleshoot with them, we would recommend that if the reporting it on our end is unsuccessful.

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but why is this only affecting the iOS email app?   It uses the same IMAP and SMTP servers as Outlook on a desktop.   iOS mail is getting blocked, but Outlook from a desktop is no problem.

That is a great question, @user_a57a3e and I am not totally sure on the reasoning behind it being specific to the iOS email app. I would recommend following the link to report it, and then go from there.
