Are you currently an xfinity subscriber? If you already have a gateway, and are not on a business account, xfinity will not provide you another gateway, nor will they run a second cable for you. You have options: 1. Connect using WiFi
2. Hire a local electrician to run a drop upstairs for you, feeding from one of the ports on the back of the gateway.
3. Depending on which service you are subscribed to, you can buy a pod (or two) to extend wireless coverage if you have none upstairs.
If you are not already a subscriber, xfinity will place your gaetway where you want it, but it is best to locate it centrally in your home.
user_w5fcou Hello and thank you for reaching out via our Xfintiy Community Forums. I completely get how frustrating it is when you can't get a strong internet connection throughout your entire home, especially upstairs where you really need it. We want to help you get seamlessly connected. Let's see what we can do to boost your Wi-Fi upstairs. Sometimes it's a straightforward fix with equipment placement, or we might need to explore other solutions that are perfect for your setup.
Please send us a direct message with your full name and service address so we can take a closer look at your account and review all the options available to get you online, wherever you need to be in your home.
