Internet stopped working after Xfinity technician worked outside

Yesterday, an Xfinity technician was working on the cables outside my apartment building. Shortly after the work was completed, my internet stopped working completely.

I contacted Xfinity Support and went through all the troubleshooting steps with an agent. We restarted the gateway, disconnected and reconnected the cables, and ran diagnostics. The diagnostics showed that everything was fine, but I still have no internet connection.

I was able to schedule a technician appointment, but the earliest available appointment is Saturday. I urgently need internet access for work and cannot be without service for several days.

Since the problem started immediately after Xfinity performed work on the outside cables, could someone please escalate this issue and help arrange an earlier technician visit or check the outside connection as soon as possible?

I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

user_2kobov Thank you so much for stopping in for help with getting a sooner appointment. Services cutting out after a tech is on site is not what you should expect, and we appreciate you reaching out for help. We know your connection is important, as it is for most of our customers, especially with more schooling and work being done from home. With our tech appointments, the area techs would only be able to provide a sooner appointment if another customer cancels theirs. We do provide our wait list option that you can text WAITLIST to 266278 to request text messages regarding the Appointment Waitlist. You'll get a text to:

Confirm you want to be added to the waitlist.
Select your preferred appointment date and time.
You'll get another text message if your desired appointment timeslot becomes available (at least 2.5 hours in advance of the desired timeslot or the original appointment time, whichever is sooner).
Reply Y in the next 30 min to accept.
Reply N to keep your original appointment.

If a better time opens that fits your needs, make sure to rly to reserve your appointment as soon as possible.

In the meantime, you may have access to hotspots around you to help provide a temporary connection. Check out more on our hotspots here.
