INTERNET SERVICE BLOCKED AT NEW APARTMENT I JUST MOVED INTO DUE TO PREVIOUS TENANT!!!!!!!!!!
Yesterday afternoon my internet stopped working, I went ahead and contacted Xfinity via online portal, Customer service rep stated it was an error on their behalf and that service should be up and running within a few hours, and for the inconvenience a 30.00 credit was provided. 5 hrs passed and I went ahead and reached out once again for support as I needed to connect online for work, This time Xfinity agent contacted me via phone directly. after further investigating the person on the other end of the call was rude, and told me that the reason for the service to be disconnected is because I owe a balance, I went ahead and reiterated that the service was just connected and that my bill is not due till the 15th- Aug-2023, and that I had also spoken to a rep earlier and that was informed that service will be back up and running within a few hours and that I was also provided with a 30.00 credit. The rep went on how I Must pay now and that total owed is $370.00, I asked how is that possible she did not want to provide an explanation, at this point a requested to speak to a supervisor or manager, but the manager was more polite and asked me for my full name on the account and provided me details and had asked me if I was related to a Joeseph [Edited: "Personal Information"]. I responded with no, That I had recently moved into this apartment on 14-JUL-2023, and the rep told me that the previous tenant who lived there owned the amount of 370.00 and that is the reason why service has been disconnected and that I would need to go to the store once again and provide documentation and ID. that there is nothing that can be done by him since he is only customer service.
Today I went to the store and provided a copy of my utility bill along with the service start date, I sent an email directly to the rep that was assisting me and after 1 hr of just waiting, the rep stated that there is nothing she can do on her end to remove the block and that the only option she could offer was a pre-paid service of 200mbps, and that if I needed the block to be removed I would need to contact support via online.
needless to say, I ended up at the nearest internet cafe, to chat with tech support after 1 hr of trying and being transferred from chat to chat, I was told there is nothing that can be done,
Now I look at my account and I have an upcoming bill of 99.00 my internet service was active on 2-aug-2023 that's when the tech arrived to install the service, so basically I will be billed for a service I only ended up using for 5 days. this is very frustrating, How because of some previous tenant not paying I have to take fault for this, like basically, you guys sell the service just to sell, a system should be put into place so that this can be avoided for all future customers,
Please someone contact me asap

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

so because of previous tenant, I have to suffer consequences and the only option is pre-paid service LOL...
Provided all necessary documents to show that I am not related to previous tenant.
It does appear that after further investigation we are not going to be able to provide traditional Xfinity services at this location. The only option we would be able to suggest is our Xfinity Pre-paid service, it is a great option. The way you can explore that would be at this link: HTTPS://WWW.XFINITYPREPAID.COM
