Thanks for reaching out to us, I had the similar situation when they were doing work in my area to enhance into the new upgraded speeds and since I work from home I needed to be able to show my supervisor the reason why I was not online.
Which you will be able to see that information via the awesome Xfinity app https://www.xfinity.com/apps and you can do like I did and just take the screenshot of the service interruption on that day and submit that to your employer
