Internet outage, AI just hanging up on me
A tree took out the wire on my block since last night. Since I can't talk to anyone human all I get is, that service will be as soon as possible, which is obvious and could mean ANYTHING. I don't understand why we can't get a real update to know if someone will be repairing this outage today or tomorrow or next week. Internet is how I make my livelihood so I need to plan for how I can get Internet.
If AI customer service just hangs up on me rather than giving me a real update, what is the point?

At least RCN actually has real people I wish I hadn't moved to this area..

@user_ybz4z4 Thanks for adding a post to the community and sharing your feedback. We understand it's vital to get the connection back when things like that happen. The Status page here https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/check-service-outage is the best resource. It will show the latest updates from the techs on the ground, and it's what we use to check for updates. Signing up for notifications with your phone number helps in two ways. First it alerts the local plant in your area that your home is impacted and needs help. Second it immediately notifies you whenever there is an update.
Log in and add your phone number to the notification list. That will ensure you know when service is back. If you need an alternative connection, we have our Xfinity Hotspots. Use the Xfinity App to find the nearest one. That can help at least for now while the repair to the line is completed.
