Internet essentials and cable tv

Why can I not order choice TV as an internet essentials customer. Which is the tv service I had before I was approved for internet essentials. My point was to save money. But now that I'm an internet essentials customer the only TV service plans available to me are costing me more money for TV alone than I was paying for mainstream internet and choice tv together. This doesnt make any since. Why cant I have choice TV?

Hi @user_ebba63. You should have the option to add the Choice TV cable service to the account, though since this internet plan is a specialty plan, it may not be able to bundle the two services together to receive a multi-product discount. I'd be happy to look further into this for you if you'd like? Would you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address?

Every single Comcast employee I've spoken with this week has acted like they didn't know what a flex TV was or how to switch from Internet Essentials to a comparable service with Xfinity in order to get Flex TV and you cannot find that on the internet it just repeats how to get a flex TV. Not how to change from Internet Essentials which is under the ACP program which doesn't cover television just the internet. Comcast employees act like they don't know what Flex TV is. I wouldn't give you a pinch of dirt for the knowledge the online people or the call back people have in regards to this with Comcast they act like it's money coming out of their pocket. It defeats the entire purpose of the ACP

Hello, thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Forums. I would be happy to review your account and options to make the changes needed today. You can cancel your internet essentials service and go with a different internet option that will allow you to add the Flex feature. Once you have the new option set up you can then apply for the ACP program. If you would like to look into this more please send a Peer to peer message with your full name and address.

@user_7b186b true.... unfortunately, and it hurts your feelings/and your budget. BUT you can get TV with internet essentials...just ask for the Popular TV package. That's what they gave me $69.00 per month you get 125 channels all of the ones that have a hefty broadcast fee. And some channels you don't need or want but you can get it......it took me having to talk to a customer retention specialist. You SHOULD be able to get a Flex box free with internet.....since you don't have cable TV. When I asked for one they told me I can't have one because I did get IE's and cable TV (popular tv package). Depends on how you wanna spend your money i love local channels, but if I didn't i would have stuck with ACP got a digital converter box and ordered Netflix and saved myself $100 a month.

Definitely defeats the purpose no matter how you look at it, but at the end of the day.....it's your choice as a consumer. Because I'm paying more now with free ACP internet and TV than I was when I have mainstream internet and TV, because as an ACP client the only TV package you can get is popular tv package.
