Internet cost for ethernet vs wifi tv streaming

RE: Xfinity Support > Internet > Get Started > Your Home Network > Connect a Smart TV to Your In-Home WiFi Network, quote, ''For 4K or high-data streaming, use an Ethernet cable to connect your TV directly to your gateway.''

My original plan was to do exactly that with a 40Gbps Cat 8 cable, similar to my PC, for stability and faster 4K speeds on my new 4K Smart TV, and continue using wifi for my Xfinity Mobile phone. I currently have 'Fast Internet' 500Gbps Unlimited Wireless Data Plan, with XB7 Gateway Modem.

QUESTION: Going wired 4K TV and streaming ~3.3Tbs/month, how can I possibly avoid big charges without the old Unlimited Data Plan that I think no longer exists, or am I wrong? What to do? -lgf

@lgf-NW Based on what you said you currently have you should be covered to use as much data as you want with the new plan and should have unlimited. If you want us to double check the deal we would be happy to do so.

Matthew, thank you for your response! Yes, please double check the deal I am currently using, and as per direct Ethernet connection. Haven't been able to get a real person for verification, and did differing searches incl. AI Assist. -lgf

@XfinityMatthew - Per your instructions, today I finally had the time to spend with Xfinity Support. I did need to change my old plan to the new 'Unlimited Data' plan with similar speeds, and setup a Tech visit to install a newer/faster Gateway Modem.

XfinityAirelle gave the concise information which has elluded me for weeks, and I quote, "The data usage is not dependent on what medium is used to deliver the data to the end user devices. All data that passes through the modem counts towards the monthly data allowance including downloading and uploading."

Put simply, even though Xfinity WiFi is all anyone cares to talk about online, and "the WiFi is booming" on commercials, Unlimited Data means UNLIMITED data. Thank you, and Xfinity Community Forum / Xfinity Support! Info is power! -lgf
