internet and tv

I will be moving from my house into a rental property. It is "cable ready."

I was told that Comcast can provide both tv and internet from the one outlet. 

Is that true? How would two different types of signals be handled from one outlet?

It's too early to go into details, but I would want to discuss in person the assorted options available. 

As you can see, I already have a Comcast account.

So both signals are sent over the same wire?

Comcast supplies that?

Wouldn't that weaken the signal?

@WD19 We use different frequencies and a lot of really cool techniques to get as much information put onto one signal as possible. Also, a lot of channels are switching over to IP streaming technology that is really helping open up those frequencies so that we can continue to provide more bandwidth for all services. While using the same outlet will lower the power levels for each device connected to it, it takes a lot of signal reduction to start to notice a difference. This was one of the big advantages in switching to a digital network years ago.
