Increased upload speeds

Hello! I'm currently on the "Gigabit Extra" tier. About a month ago I contacted support since I had read a post elsewhere about there being an increased upload speed tier available (1200/200). During the support chat session I was told that I would need to add the "xfi complete" package and upgrade my modem to get the enhanced upload speed. I have yet to see the higher speed after installing the new modem (had to go to a store and swap my old one out because the "agent" was trying to force me into a 3 year obligation to send out out grrr) and restarting it multiple times.

The other really odd thing is, when I log into my account on xfinity.com there's still a prompt to "Upgrade to Xfi Complete", as if I don't have that service, after contacting an "agent" through chat they tell me that I do indeed have that package on my account, but I'm still not getting more than 35Mbps upload. I've "spoken" with the online chat service multiple times since all of this and have been told everything from "you should have the increased upload speed" to, that package isn't available in your area (even though I appear to be signed up for it), to "it will be active in your area within a "month or so""...one even told me that I would need to change my plan and activate a 3 year commitment to get the upload speed that I'm after....

I would like to figure this out asap, as my online backups for the computers in my household take FOREVER to complete, I've been getting calls and visits from the local telco about fiber being available in my area soon...I'm one of those who is basically satisfied with my comcast/xfinity service, but for the upload speeds and would like to stick with it, but if I'm just being given the run around, or these "agents" are just trying to lock me into a 3 year commitment to meet their quota I may need to make other plans. Recently, I got a letter in the mail notifying me of an upcoming "outage" in my area for upgrades...I had held out hope that maybe this was going to be the upgrade that I'm waiting for...Alas, the upgrade/outage came and went and my upload speeds haven't budged.

If it helps, my zip code is 25404, but I guess what I'm trying to figure out is...is this actually happening (the speed increase)? and if so, is there a REAL timeline for it? I'm just getting really tired of having to watch every little thing in the online chat sessions when trying to get information to avoid being "tricked" into signing a commitment ...I wouldn't mind signing if I could get the service that I actually want, but I need to see and be sure that it's what I'm getting before committing since my alternative to get what I need involves switching to another service.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

@EG Thank you! I thought I had posted it there, but I had several windows open and probably got confused!

@chutzler, thank you for reaching out through Xfinity Forums. We have had a lot of changes going on lately, so I can see where it could be confusing as to when it is happening in your area. Please send me a DM with your name and full address by doing the following and I can look your account up to see where things are for you:

• Click "Sign In" if necessary

• Click the "Direct Message” icon (upper right corner of this page)

• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list

• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

• Press Enter to send your message

Has xfinity been able to resolve your speed issues ? I'm having the same issue.
