Incorrect Data Usage

Hi

For last few months I am getting charged extra for crossing the allotted  data limit of  1.2TB

Nothing has changed at my house in more than a year,

We hardly  watch Videos from streaming sites.

My internal wifi router doesnt show any such data usage.  I am sure that I have been charged incorrectly.

Is there a way that xfininty can tell me which day how much data was used and which device used it?

Thanks

Xfinity says no, they can't show you individual device usage due to "privacy issues".

I'd be much more concerned about a data and security problem, than an overage charge if it's true though.  To figure that part out you need to run all data through something that can record it.

Are you using a coax connected cable TV box?  You would be blind to the data use on that if you are.

Are you using their gateway or your own modem before the internal WiFi, and what is it?  You might be pretty close to being able to solve this yourself.

@ifti71, Thank you for reaching out to Xfinity Support. With so many devices using data these days, it can be easy to let something slip by. We can take a closer look and break it down by the day, but not by the device. If you would like, send us a DM with your name and full address by doing the following:

• Click "Sign In" if necessary

• Click the "Direct Message” icon (upper right corner of this page)

• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list

• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

• Press Enter to send your message
