Improvement project

The green box at the corner of Asbury St and Porter Lane is badly rusted. As part of a neighborhood beautification project an artist in our neighborhood would like to paint a mural on it. Can he do that ?

srich81502 That’s a really cool idea, and I love hearing about neighborhood beautification projects like this.

For Xfinity equipment, like the node or utility box you’re referring to, they are company property and can’t be modified or painted without approval. Even though it’s in a public space, we do need to make sure any changes don’t interfere with access, maintenance, or safety.

The best next step would be to submit a request for permission. This usually goes through the local city or municipality first, since many of these projects are coordinated with them, and they can help route the request to the right Comcast/Xfinity team for review.

Do you provide a form to use for the request ?

Sorry, we don't, you would want to start at the local level with your city.

I am working with the Town of Hamilton to get their blessing for our project.  Since the box is owned by Comcast can't you decide whether we can paint it?  We won't be disturbing town property to do it.

srich81502, On our end, I can request our local team address the damage at the box/pedestal. If needed, they can replace the housing as well. This would clear up any visible damage or rust, and it ensures the hardware inside is protected. I can then check with our local teams after the repair if the painting would be possible.
