Iguard

Is there a way to verify an iguard link in chat was the actual iguard link used for a transaction? I have a copy of the chat transcript.

@user_itjwx5P Thanks for reaching back out. I see you were asking this similar question to some members of my team in our DMs with you. I do not believe the link was fraudulent. It was an official iGuard link, and we don't have a way to send a fake one.

I believe in this case it was sent to get the information required for a mobile sale. That being the behavior that is unacceptable without proper disclosure, and we got reported for you. I don't believe the information is being used for anything else. With iGuard the one benefit to you is the whole purpose of us using that for mobile is it allows you to provide the birthday and social with it not being visible to agents.

I understand that the link that went through was not fraudulent since it went through. My concern and worry is that a fraudulent one was sent from xfinity chat agent and they were able to see details and add it to a legitimate one…..

Agents would not be able to see anything sent into those links. But with the report we submitted for that agent, the team that investigates those cases would reach out to you if they uncovered anything concerning such as your personal information leaked in any way. They take reports very seriously and will get you involved if it goes beyond fixing the unauthorized mobile setup. If you do have any additional concerns with your information or account security that would be handled by our Customer Security Assurance team.

I did call and asked to be transferred to that department. That person was not helpful. Maybe I got transferred to the wrong department. Asked if I could talk to someone else and they said colleagues have the same info as they do.

Called again yesterday and talked to someone else. Basically said what you are saying about iguard. Just trying to make sure link in chat was legit and not fraudulent for agents use.

This is their website https://spa.xfinity.com/help where you can open an ID theft investigation if you'd like. Select Identity Theft and then Report and Issue. You can also reach them directly using this information.
