I would like to downgrade my internet

Hi, I want to downgrade to the Internet Essentials plan, but I can't simply switch to it online without having to order a getting started kit. I have my own modem and only want to change the plan, can someone help me?

Hello @user_h01oca Thanks for reaching out to our team here for support on internet essentials. For internet essentials there's an application process that you must go through to qualify. I have a link for the application and more details about the plan https://www.xfinity.com/learn/internet-service/internet-essentials. 

There are some important eligibility details in that link as well. Please let us know if you have any questions. I am also happy to go over our current promotions to see what options we have to help you with saving money after you've had a few minutes to go over the details in the Internet essentials link.

I have the ACP which is ending, so I qualify. Is it necessary to go through the application when the option is selectable on my account in the change plan page?

@user_h01oca, Yes the application is a step that's needed. Our internet essentials will receive your information, review it and process the applicable and set it up for you. Our apologies as we do not have the ability to set up an internet essentials account. Once you're all set up we can certainly troubleshoot and help with your bill etc. I am happy to follow up with you throughout this process. If your able to fill it out today we will check back with you on Friday to see if you have an update.
