I was given the wrong TV box and The exchange

I went to the local Xfinity store today to exchange my old X1 TV box for one that is UHD compatible, a true 4K. When I got it home and set it up discovered it was a non-4k box, a XG2v2. I now want to exchange that for an XG1v4 so I can see true 4K on my new Sony Bravia 8. I would like to order it online so I am sure that I'm getting the right one, how do I do that?

We definitely want to make sure you're able to take advantage of that crispy 4K image your Bravia is capable of, so we'll do everything we can to ensure you're hooked up with the right cable box 👍 While were always able to send equipment to you, when we process orders for equipment ourselves, we can't confirm which specific equipment is sent as it is all based on availability from our warehouses, so there is a better chance of you securing that 4K box in-store. When you went to exchange your box in-person, were you advised that there was no stock of the 4K box you needed?

No, I assumed it was the right box but I didn't unwrap it until later at home

I went back to the store in Lodi,  they didn't have it.  I'll try to go to the corporate store in Stockton and check there.  If no luck I'll check back with you for other options.

Success!! The replacement xg1v4 works great.  Installed in less than 15 min. whereas I spent 3+ hours trying to get the 1st one going....ultimately failed. For those who are having problems with install screens freezing and severely slow remote actions, don't waste your time.  Take it back for a replacement.  I did notice that the light on the unit was very dim on the 1st one but bright white on the good one
