I need you to confirm an agent actually works for you and isn't a scammer

I need to know if the service person who is asking me for my social and dob actually works for comcast.
If she in fact works at Comcast, its ridiculous that you would ask people to give you this info to a stranger over the phone, you need another way to get people's information that seems more legit

Hi there, @user_pd5lnl Thank you so much for reaching out! Oh no, if we contacted you, we would not be asking for your social security and DOB. I would recommend finding out the reason for the call and either reach out to us on this forum or contact our customer service directly at 1-800-Xfinity.-Richard

And yet, every day customers post that agents are asking them for this information, for example: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/customer-service/6782cf907699a97c89088ea3. Perhaps the company's policy of twisting arms to get customers to sign up for Xfinity Mobile products is not such a good idea.

ETA: Note that the Employee Reply in the link above states: "... it is required for you to share your DOB and SSN via secure link when we are changing your mobile services ...".
