I need to cancel my services
It should seriously be illegal how difficult it is to cancel this service. I've been overpaying for internet for way too long, which I've been aware of. That's my own fault from laziness but the fact that I'm finally going to cancel and it's impossible to find an option to do so is enraging. The responses in this forum direct me to an icon that doesn't exist on the page. I asked AI for help and it claims that writing a public post on the forum will "unlock" the DM icon. So I'm writing this frustrated post to express a theory I have: Xfinity is well aware of its wildly overpriced services, so to curb the lost business they make it as difficult as possible to cancel their services.

Hello, @user_im21y2 thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums. I completely understand the frustration with not being able to get in contact with someone to process the request. Now that you've created a post, and if you're signed in, the option to send a direct message should be available. Customers who have reported not seeing the icon, may need to uncheck "Opt out of Direct Messaging" for that to be come available.
To continue when you have time. Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address?
To send a direct message:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Direct Message chat" icon
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window, please add your full name and address
• Press Enter to send it

@user_im21y2 I'm glad to see you were able to find the direct messaging option, I was able to locate that and will follow up with you there to continue with getting the order placed.
