Thank you for choosing Xfinity and for joining the Xfinity Forums community, user_70a805! Technical issues like this can be frustrating, but you've absolutely come to the right place for help. You can activate your modem through a web browser. To get started, you can either:
Connect temporarily using the default Network Name (SSID) and Password printed on the bottom of your Gateway (it might look like Home-XXXX or XFSETUP-XXXX), or
use an Ethernet cable. Once you're connected, you should automatically see a welcome screen to begin setup. If that doesn’t appear, simply open a browser and go to this link. From there, just follow the on-screen steps to verify your Xfinity account and complete the activation. Please let me know if this information helps or if you run into any issues along the way.
