I have 2gig Internet but was not given the required gateway (XB10)
Hello,
I recently bought the 2gigabit upload/download plan but the technician installed an XB7 Gateway. This would be fine if they used a coaxial cable but they instead took the only 2.5gigbit port for the ONT. The problem with this is that all of the other ports are hardware limited to 1gigabit and the wifi bandwidth is as well. The only solution (I have found) is to use an XB10 that has two 2.5gigabit ports so I can connect one to the ONT and another to a router/wifi extender. I have tried communicating with associates in Xfinity stores, calling into the support line, and even attempting to use a network switch as a potential work around but with no success. My speeds are 2000megabit (2gig) up and 2000megabit (2gig) down. This should classify as one of the "X-Class" plans that is required to get an XB10 Gateway. Any help on making this happen would be greatly appreciated.

A technician installed an XER10 because the XB10 was not compatible with an EPON setup and I am able to get 2gig speeds. So for speeds greater than 1gig requiring Xfinity equipment, it seems the XER10 or the XB10 is needed for the extra ethernet ports.
