I am having problems with deleted messages not syncying between my desktop, ipad and iphone devices

I did not start having this problem until a couple days ago.  I have deleted the comcast email account on both the ipad and iphone and added it back using the imap.comcast.net server and have the account set up to "Fetch New Data" automatically.  Messages are showing up timely between all three devices but deleted messages are not syncing.  Please advise.  Thanks

@Wmjjones Just to clarify, if you delete an email on the iPad, you don't see it deleted on the iPhone? If you log into your email via our Xfinity website is the email showing deleted there as well?

@Wmjjones Thank you for confirming that for me. Are you using Outlook on your iPhone and iPad as well or a different email client?

I had a similar problem.

Symptom: iphone not sync-ing correctly with xfinity webmail.  All messages appear "unread".  Plus other symptoms.

Cause: Recent uninstall/reinstall of my comcast email within the iphone mail app.

Why Re-install causes this problem:

When installing a comcast email address, iphone "looks up" the comcast parameters and invisibly enters them.

The invisibly-entered parameters (server: mail.comcast.net ; incoming port: 995) are INCORRECT, if you want to sync.

The invisibly-entered parameters are for POP behavior - will not sync.

Workaround:

On iPhone mail settings, when installing your comcast email address, intentionally mis-type comcast (e.g. "coomcast") so that iphone brings you to the manual-entry method of adding an account.  This is what you want, so you can set up IMAP behavior, which is designed to sync.

The correct parameters for IMAP are available on comcast's web site, here:

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/email-client-programs-with-xfinity-email

I consider this to be an iPhone bug, because it invisibly sets up POP parameters, and never asks user what is wanted.  Casual users (like me) do not immediately recognize "my comcast email doesn't sync to my iphone" symptoms as simply being normal POP behavior.

Hoping this info saves the next person a few hours of difficulty!
