How to receive alerts when there is an outage

I would like to receive alerts on email/SMS when there is a planned maintenance or known internet outage. I work from home and it would be very helpful to know ahead of time for scheduled maintenance or at least as soon as there is a known outage.

Hello, @WeyldFalcon. Thank you for your feedback on our alert system. I think this would be beneficial as well to have. We do currently have text alerts for reported service interruptions, but they would need to be opted in for per interruption through the My Account app. I'll forward your feedback for planned maintenance and hopefully in the future we can offer this feature for you. You can find the steps listed here.

How can I be added to the text alerts for reported service interruptions? I currently get no notifications of any outages.

It looks to me you can only request outage status. I think the intent was for xfinity to proactively send outage alerts when one was detected or is planned.
