How to get unlimited data without using their modem?

The last few months I’ve been going over my data cap which it’s 2025 having data caps is just pure greed.  And looking at previous bill before the overages started I was no where near the cap so I’m sure this is a scam, but that’s for my lawyers to look into.  Anyway I digress my actual question is how do I get unlimited data WITHOUT the stupid xfi gateway.  It’s an extra 30 a month and I have to take a massive downgrade to my bandwidth and network customization by using their modem, I know networking and I could never do things on their modem that I have setup on mine.  I would gladly pay an extra 10-15 a month for unlimited but not $30 AND have to use their [Edited: "Language"] modem that steals and sells my personal information about the sites I visit.

user_6jg175 Hello and thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Community Forums. I understand your frustration with data caps. It's definitely concerning when your usage patterns seem to change unexpectedly, and I want to assure you we'll look into how we can help.  While the xFi Gateway is often bundled with our unlimited data option for $25 a month, there is an option to get unlimited data using your equipment that does cost $30 a month. However, before moving in that direction, I would like to review your account and usage history to see if there are any discrepancies or unusual patterns. This will help us understand why you've been exceeding your data cap recently. To get started, please send our team a Direct Message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account.

To send a "Direct Message" message:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon at the top of the page (looks like a text bubble)

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list that appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it
