How to get more DVR storage on our boxes?

We just got new service last week with 2 cable boxes I thought both were x1 dvr with additional storage.   Can we exchange one of the boxes to have 2 x1 dvr boxes? can this be done in local store?   How do I get extra storage or an upgraded cable box?

Hi there! Thank you for reaching out about your DVR storage. We do offer additional storage if needed from 150 hours to 300 hours. You can send us direct message us a direct message for this. You can also view more here:

  • Make sure you are signed in here in the Xfinity Forum. Click "Sign In" if necessary
  • Click the "Direct Message" icon (square chat icon in the upper right corner of your screen next to the bell icon)
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it
