how to delete closed account still showing active

I had two accounts (seperate houses) linked together for my online account.  Closed one of the accounts a year ago; however, that account still shows active.  Now I can not utilize the online system since that account "can not verify contact information"...so I can not change anything in the system.   I have tried calling the support line but the automated system is worthless.   How can I delete this closed account but effect my current one?

user_f04y0k Thanks for posting on our Community Forums. The easiest way to unlink an account would be online. You can check the steps HERE. I recommend you use a PC or laptop to complete this process. Let us know if this helps!

@XfinityDilary Unfortunately that doesn't work....everything I try says "can't make that change right now we need to verify your contact information".  When I click on the link provided it will not let any changes be made.

My default account is the one I closed a year ago.  My current account shows the correct email and phone number, so not sure why the verify issue.

but summary, the system will not let any changes be made without the verification process; however, that can not be done for some reason.

user_f04y0k Have you tried setting the new account as the default and then attempting to remove the old one? Is that when you encounter the error?

any attempted alterations to my account result in the same "can't make this change right now we need to verify your contact information ".

Then when I go to the link provided on that page, again "can't make this change".....

The system will let me delete payment methods (credit cards on file); however, the default card can not be deleted nor can I add credit cards.

The system will let me switch between my two accounts.  When I attempt changes to either of the two accounts I get the "can't make that change right now, etc".  One of the other error messages says "There isn't an Xfinity service associated with this ID".

The other thing I noticed that when I get the "can't make change right now" the internet  page shows NO CONTACT
