How to cancel an appointment?

I have an appointment with a technician that is no longer necessary.  However, your online and (very limited) customer support "chat" only allow you to reschedule, not to cancel.  How can I cancel my appointment to help your technician not make a wasted trip by showing up and being turned away...?

It was great speaking with you, @Bagogas! For community knowledge, we found the visit was set as a proactive visit which is a special request order. Those cannot be canceled online or though text. I was able to cancel the visit since the service is working well.

Hi there, Bagogas! We are happy to further assist you with the visit. You can also text 'appt' to 266278 to see options to view, reschedule, or cancel your appointment.

Feel free to send us a direct message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the direct messaging icon located at the top right of this forums page.

Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:
• Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Direct Message” icon (upper right corner of this page)
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send your message

Thank you for how to send a DM.  This might be a useful response the automated assistant could offer.  However, please note that the SMS "appt" approach only offers "R" to reschedule, no mechanism to cancel the appointment.  It does provide a link to view the appointment, but it fails.  I have sent a DM in hopes that succeeds.  Thanks!

Thanks for trying to cancel through text, @Bagogas! This may be a different type of visit other than a trouble call or installation. If it is a special request order like a line visit, only we can cancel those. I see your direct message and am replying there now.
