How long before changes take effect?

Tonight, 9/22, I updated my service to the 300 mps internet from the 100.  My Arris modem is capable the speed.  I have reset the modem and even received a message that it had been restarted and updated by xfinity.  My account shows my new plan.  But my download speeds are basically the same as before and I'm standing 5 feet from the modem/router with a brand new Samsung smartphone.   I'm topping out at 50mps on my speed test.

Hello, @user_d3185b! Thanks for reaching out to us on the Forums! I hope you are doing well! I apologize to hear that you are topping out at 50 Mbps. It sounds like we might need to just reprovision the modem to get that speed up for you as the change takes effect right away. Can you please click the Direct Message icon at the top right of the page, click on the pen and pad icon and enter Xfinity Support in the "To" section of the chat and provide us with your first/last name and full address so we may further assist you?
