How do I remove a personal email from Account and Identity settings?

I have my school email listed as one of my personal emails, but I'm retiring soon and I need it removed. I don't have another email account, so changing it to something else doesn't help me. My phone is linked for verification purposes, so I don't need a second email listed. How can I remove it?

@user_sn06rl You can manage your contact information and preferences easily on the Account and Identity page or using the Xfinity app.

I've been to that page, there is no option to remove a personal email. You can only change it to something else. But I don't want to change it to something else, I need it removed.

@user_sn06rl are you on the browser or app? On the app, go to the account settings tab, click on ID and Security, click on change email and make sure you make the new email the preferred email. Once you do that, you will be able to delete the one you want.

I was on the browser, but I just tried from the app. My preferred email is my Comcast email. When I tap on my Personal email, the only options there are 'Change email' and 'Make this preferred'. There's no option to remove. As I said in my initial post, I do not want to have a personal email on my account, I will use my phone number for verification. How can I remove my Personal email completely?

@user_sn06rl I'm sorry for the trouble you are having with removing the personal email address from the account. Unfortunately at this time we do not have a way to remove the personal address through self-service or on our side. It is possible that would Customer Security Assurance team may be able to help out. You can contact the security team by phone at 1-888-565-4329. They are available 8am - 12am ET 7 days a week.

Before this forum post, I had two separate people tell me via support chat that they had removed the personal email, but it would take up to an hour for the change to be visible on my side. I now suspect that neither of them had done anything, but just wanted my ticket closed. Very unprofessional.

For posterity, here's what I did to work around this issue:

1. Create a Gmail account

2. Use the Change Email feature to change it to the Gmail account

3. Forget about the Gmail and never look at it again
