How do I get a Tuning Adapter for TiVo
I need a Tuning Adapter from Xfinity because they use Stretched Digital Video (SDV) which has been causing frequent failure to record my favorite channel. According to the TiVo web site, Xfininty has an agreement with TiVo that Xfinity will provide one to me. However, I have not been able to find anyone who will tell me how. Xfinity stores no longer carry hardware and there is no way to find out if affiliates have the adapters without visiting each one.

That sounds more like a signal problem than an SDV problem, or less likely, a Cablecard problem. These Tivo troubleshooting articles may help:
Troubleshooting Digital TV Signals - Especially check the signal strength and quality values for the problematic channels.
CableCARD Troubleshooting
I don't know why it would show up 3 times, but 2 times is typical. Locally (South-Central PA) Fox News HD (East) shows up twice, on channel 820 and again on 1110. All HD and some SD channels are duplicated in a similar way. This is left over from their "channel neighborhoods" initiative of a decade or so ago, where they attempted to group similar channels together, and to standardize channels numbers across their systems by adding a number above 1000 for each HD channel, as well as for channels that they only carry in SD. I haven't heard anything about "channel neighborhoods" in some years, but we still have the duplicate numbers on our system.

The concern is not "Channels And Programming" help related.................... Topic moved here to the proper help section, and for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hey there, @yarrowbay! Thanks for reaching out with your equipment concerns. It sounds like you need a TV Adapter or TV Box as seen here. What happens when you log in to your account online (My Account) and attempt to add a TV Adapter that way?

Are you quite sure you need one? AFAIK Comcast does not use SDV and so no SDV Tuning Adapter is needed. OTOH they do use IP for some channels, but I don't believe Tuning Adapters exist for IP channels. You simply can't tune them on a Tivo. CSPAN-HD is one example.
What channels (name, not number) are coming up blank for you, and where (city, state) are you located?

Thanks. Comcast went over my home cabling several months ago and did an excellent job. I checked the signal strength (via tivo) as you suggested. It is excellent on all channels that I examined. I will need to check when I catch a fault. I will check the CableCard per the article you referenced.
I was screwed up on SDV. I wasn't thinking clearly. It is obvious that SDV could not be the problem - there is no two-way communication (that I know of) between the TiVo and Comcast except for programming information. It would seem that if this were a SDV problem then the channel would not come back. It does sound like a CableCard problem. I am going to mark this as accepted since Comcast has not gone to SDV yet.
