If the remote has a sticky residue, you may be able to clean it using a damp cloth with mild soapy water, a household cleaning wipe, a diluted mixture of water and vinegar, or a small amount of rubbing alcohol applied to a soft cloth. If the issue persists, you can also exchange the remote at your nearest Xfinity Service Center. I hope this info helps!
