user_u81ngp Hello, is this for mobile or landline? Have you called our mobile customer service number if this is regarding mobile. You can call an Xfinity Mobile Specialist at (888) 936-4968.
That is a scripted response- take the advise from a weary customer who has had more chats/calls/in person conversations I ever expected just to transfer my mobile number: will go in store and let staff get into the correct queue for assistance- I have learned this from the past 24 hours:
1) Calling the number will only put you in a loop of standardized questions only. It will be almost impossible to speak to a human.
2) the prompt bypass digits (1,1,2) do not work either. AI ignores them.
3) no one tells you that porting your number will take several days if not porting from the big phone companies (ATT, Verizon etc) so you will be without service unless you have Google voice and WiFi access. The new carrier (if one of big companies) will provide a secondary number in the meantime…still a pain bcoz you have to update ur main contacts and everyone else will get a recorded message.
4) Xfinity transfer port out/pin numbers are good for 24hours -as of this posting- so be sure your new provider has inputted this information first.
user_2f4ef8, Thank you for your feedback and insights. I see you ran into some hiccups, and I appreciate all your patience. I hope the process goes smoother for you in the future if you run into this situation again.
