How can I get an XB8

Hey i’ve tried multiple times and received XB7s twice last year. It’s been a whole year since i last tried so I was wondering if the XB8 was now readily available?

@user_59c3d4 Thank you for reaching out to the Digital Care Team. Yes, we did have limited quantity after they were released, but we now have full availability. There are two options regarding replacing the modem. A new one can be picked up in-store at no cost, or we can ship one to the home. An appointment can be set up online: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/schedule-appointment-online to avoid any waiting in line as well. There is a onetime shipping cost that will be applied to the next bill, and you will receive it in 3-5 days.

If I understand correctly, can I just bring my XB7 modem into a local Xfinity store and trade in for an XB8?

Hello @dblsl. It depends on if the local Xfinity store is carrying them or not. The most reliable way it to have us mail one out to you. I can see if your local store is carrying any currently, and or we can set up the shipment of the XB8. If you would like me to check, we just first need to get your account pulled up. Please send me a direct message with your first and last name, along with your complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.   

Here are detailed steps to direct message us:  

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary 
  • Click the direct message icon
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon 
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list 
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window 
  • Press Enter to send your message
