Houston Internet outage continues but power was restored more than a day ago. Need Internet now, what is the schedule?
My power and Internet went out in Houston, TX between 6:30 am and 11:20 am Central Time on Monday, July 8, 2024. My power was restored at 5:10 pm Central Time on Friday, July 12, but Internet doesn't function. Yes I have looked at the outage map (no Internet) at least 5 times a day since Monday. Yes I have signed up for text alerts. The only thing that has happened is robots saying "we will fix it as soon as possible" but no schedule is provided. I have been at a friend's house unable to go home since Tuesday because I needed power and also Internet. I depend on the Internet for my job (I cannot do any work without the Internet). I also depend on it for entertainment, and for many things in everyday living. I am going crazy being unable to go home. I am desperate to be able to go home. I cannot stand this. I need the Internet to be restored so I won't have to live like a refugee in someone else's house. How long is this going to go on? Do not tell me to use an app or the outage map, I have already done this. I have already called the phone number and talked to robots twice. I have signed up for text messages 3 times. Comcast has not done anything useful and has not provided any useful information whatsoever. Robots tell me generic information that means nothing, and the outage map only tells me that there is an outage. It does not say any schedule of when this will come back. I need information. Is this going to take 2 more weeks? What is happening, I cannot take this anymore. Comcast, you have a responsibility to tell people what the schedule is. This is a major disruption. Do not come back with some generic response or tell me to talk to robots. I need actual information about the date and time the Internet will be repaired at my home.

Hello, @ineedinternetnow
Our hearts go out to those impacted by Storm Beryl. To help residents and emergency personnel stay connected during this time, we opened Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots in the Texas Region to anyone who needs them, including non-Xfinity customers, free of charge. The Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots will remain open through Thursday, July 18, at 5:00 p.m. Central Time (CT). I understand your frustration and would like to review your account for more details on service restoration. Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? To send a direct message:
1. In the top right corner, you'll see a little chat icon near the bell icon. Click the direct message icon
2. Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
3. In the 'To' line, type "Xfinity Support" there. A drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list (an "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line)
4. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
5. Press Enter to send it. An official employee, such as myself or whoever is first available, will respond. Thanks!
