Home Renovation Wiring and Service Restoration

Hello,

I will be renovating a house that currently has xfinity service.  What do I need to do to prepare for the renovation, and then once the renovation is completed to restore xfinity service?

Thanks!

Thank you for reaching out @user_w081x7 Are you going to be removing coax cable lines? I would get a electrician to make sure you are running the correct lines and once complete setting up a pro installation for Xfinity services.

@XfinityDena Yes, we will be removing the existing coax lines within the house.  Should we be planning to rewire with new coax or going with ethernet cable instead, or something else?  Can you provide the contact information to coordinate the "pro installation"?

@user_w081x7 You would need to install new coax cable and coax outlets. The pro installation would be with a new service being set up. If that is with a new owner of the house you would need to let them know that they would need to set up the pro installation when signing up for services. If it is yourself you would do the same. It wouldn't be a separate installation to setting up serviecs. Our technician would run a temporary line with the installation to the line outside with the set-up as long as the underground cable line is not removed. If you plan on removing the cable line check out the link: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/underground-wiring . It would still be the same process with setting up services with a pro installation and the technician will determine if a new cable line needs to be installed or replaced.

Thanks for the information.  The underground cable to the wall of the house would remain intact.  Could you provide the phone number to use for setting up the pro installation?
