Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hi user_75b61w! We appreciate you visiting our Xfinity Forum. Please know my team is always here to support you.

This is a great question! We definitely offer internet service with a wireless connection through Wi-Fi. In regard to needing an outlet, our technicians can install or activate unwired or prewired outlets during a new installation.

There are two types of outlets technicians may install:
1. Prewired: A previously installed outlet requires activation or reconnection.

2. Unwired: This is an outlet that didn't previously exist in a customer's home and is created by our technician, who runs a wire and installs the wall plate and connection for it.

The professional installation fee covers the installation of prewired or unwired outlets.

If you do not own the property, please have permission before the tech appointment.

If your home requires what's called wall fishing, this can't be done by an Xfinity technician, and you would need an electrician.

We also offer what's called Hello Tech, which is an option through a vendor we recommend, and they can Wallfish, customize outlets, and do wiring installation. Hello Tech also provides help with:
Smart home device installation (including all Self Protection devices)
TV wall mounting, Computer setup, and Audio and video installation

Xfinity customers can receive up to a 25% discount on HelloTech installation.* Customers can schedule services with them directly by visiting or calling:
