Help confirming Xfinity Phone Number (Afraid of Fraud/Scam)

I was contacted by scammers who made a set fraudulent payments to my account which info they already had, which I immediately reported to Billing dept the same day.

Comcast Billing Department gave me this number to speak with security [Edited: "Personal Information"] regarding the account / investigation- Can a Comcast/Xfinity employee confirm this is a legitimate # ? i am afraid i am being scammed.

After speaking with this Security/Fraud team many times over the course of 18 days, 1) their lack of solution 2) inability to successfully reference past Case Numbers (Case #'s Starting with "IH) I have been previously give 3) continuously tell me someone is going to follow up with me on my case 4) Keep getting passed on to different locations across the world (Dominican Republic, Phillipines) always says they cannot read the other departments systems 5) overall casual / lack of seriousness in call center associate demeanor (say a lot of fluff but no real help)

they are able to text me a number via comcast text # to verify my ID - that is the only thing keeping me.  I am ready to cancel my services but would really like to know if this number is real or a part of a longer scam

Hello @user_ffbd13

We do have our team called Customer Security Assurance. They are amazing, the primary phone number is 1-888-565-4329. I was hoping to confirm if by chance that number was given to you by the security team at the primary phone number I included? Thank you so much.

Hello, I was never given the 1-888-565-4329 number, its possible that billing transferred to me to security and I was given the number [Edited: "Personal Information"] by the associate only when I asked for a call back number.  They have been able to send me text authorizations however I have not had a good experience with them to feel comfortable that THEY ARE COMCAST.  Based on the lack of service and confusion it makes me feel like the scammers are still speaking with me.

I am really scared now that you didn't provide confirmation about the number I asked about.

Absolutely. That is exactly what I was thinking. If you are concerned with that process you can easily call through the primary number that I had provided. Our Security team is amazing group, they are our dedicated group to handle these style concerns. Appreciate all of your time and patience!

That same heavily accented woman left me a voice mail this morning telling me to contact comcast/her through that number. They obviously have infiltrated Comcast deeply. I am not calling the number. However, I did contact your team through e-mail on your website. Hope that e-mail address was accurate. Never know what to think anymore.

If you have gotten a call claiming to be from Comcast asking you to buy gift cards or paying upfront for six months or more in exchange for 50% off your bill the FTC is well aware of this scam.  If you get a call like this you can report it to:     https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/
Please help to stop the spread of this kind of fraud.
Thanks!

@Again The 50% discount calls/voicemails fraud was exactly what i ran into.  They even made fake payments to my account without me providing them any info, this is what i am trying to fix with comcast/xfinity.

Thanks, i will gladly submit/report the number. I have already reported the number to comcast billing / fraud which i hope is also an effective way to report Scammers posing as COMCAST.

Yes. This happened to me yesterday. Unfortunately, I fell for the scam because they called as my current promotion was expiring. I wish Xfinity could find these people. Seems like there must be someway to catch them.
