Hazardous Exterior Line Installation on Rental Property
I am the property owner and landlord of a residential rental property. I am writing to request an immediate escalation to a local field supervisor and a property damage claims representative regarding an unmanaged, chaotic, and hazardous exterior line installation on my building.
Over time, Xfinity technicians have completely bypassed standard, professional installation practices on my property. Instead of routing lines properly from the basement up into the structure, technicians have drilled directly into the exterior siding of the building to run individual lines to units. This unauthorized drilling has created a severe aesthetic and structural mess, compromised the building envelope, and created an active risk for water intrusion and pest infestation. Furthermore, there are multiple loose, sagging, and abandoned "zombie" lines cluttering the building that present a clear liability.
Because these lines are actively serving my current tenants, I cannot remove them myself. However, as the property owner, I am completely unsatisfied with the current state of this infrastructure and the damage it has caused to my building's structural integrity.
I require a local field supervisor or engineering representative to contact me, inspect the property, and coordinate a proper MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit) rewiring. Specifically, I need a technician dispatched to:
- Remove all lines currently drilled directly into the side of the building.
- Correctly route all active tenant lines cleanly through the basement and up into the property.
- Completely strip away and dispose of all dead, abandoned exterior lines.
Furthermore, because Xfinity technicians drilled directly into the siding without my authorization, the building envelope has been structurally compromised. I am holding Xfinity fully liable for the property damage caused by this improper installation. I require a formal property damage claim to be opened so that Xfinity can cover the full cost of repairing or replacing the damaged siding.
Please open a property damage/hazard ticket and have a regional supervisor and a claims adjuster contact me directly to resolve this. Thank you.
