Had Xb8 and was sent XB7 replacement. No downgrade to speed. Over 40 devices on network.

Had XB8, Received XB7.  It’s connected but during process of scanning code, I heard something fall inside. Can’t see the white light. Not sure I want to keep the older version, especially since something is loose or broken off. Maybe it’s just nothing but how do I know? What’s the best route to take here? I was told I was getting the latest gateway because I’ve had the previous XB8 almost 3 years and my WiFi network had completely disappeared. They eventually got it back but determined I needed a new gateway and received the XB7 instead of the 8, with a potential loose part. And I don’t even want it get into the 4.5 hours I spent in chat with two agents because the first one ended it before even processing the new gateway she said I needed. Help! Please

And if I want to just go back to the XB8 that i disconnected, do I treat it the same as a new activation? I’m not too sure I want to use a gateway that has something “loose” or “broken off” inside

HzY82 I would be concerned as well if I heard something loose inside. I can help by shipping a new device to you, or if you like I can find the nearest store you can drop both off at, and get a replacement to save the waiting for shipping if you like.

Can you send us a direct message with your full name, name of account holder (if different), and service address please?

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon (speech bubble)

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it
