Had number outside xfinity try to make me verify identity or cancel appt

Yesterday, which is the day before my appointment window today, which is scheduled from 1 to 3 I had someone a 616 area code tried to get me to confirm my identity in order to get my Internet installed today. It sounded suspicious so I drove to the nearest Xfinity explorer and the manager assured me that my appointment still should be confirmed from 1 to 3 and it sounded like a fishing scam now when I click into my Xfinity account, it still just comes up with a red! That says something went wrong. How do I confirm that the tech is still actually coming today Tuesday, June 23 for my appointment I am now about half hour into the window for install
