Good Will Deletion Request

Good afternoon,

I am writing today regarding a past balance that was sent to a collection agency in 2021 for $151.00. This collection has since been paid in early 2022. I would like to respectfully request your assistance in submitting a goodwill deletion request to the collection agency.

The past-due amount was not due to intentional non-payment. I did not receive the final bill after the move and I thought I still had auto-payment set-up. I was unaware that a remaining balance existed. I believed the account had been settled and closed, which is why I did not realize there was an outstanding balance until I was later notified.

Once I became aware of the balance, I immediately paid the full amount. Since then, I have been a loyal Comcast customer up until my last move and ALL bills paid on time –  the current move is one in which I had no say over the internet/cable as it has been already set up by the landlord.

Given that the balance has been fully paid and that this situation resulted from an unintentional oversight rather than a pattern of non-payment and as it has been ~4 years since this incident, I respectfully ask Comcast / Xfinity to proceed with submitting a goodwill deletion request to the credit bureaus to have this collection account removed from my credit report.

I would greatly appreciate your assistance and confirmation once the request has been submitted. Please let me know if any additional information is needed on my end.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Bridget

Thank you for reaching out @user_xivq7a. Once updated by the credit bureau, the credit report should show the debt as Paid in Full. The account will remains on your credit report as Satisfied Charged Off. Has your report updated to this?

Hello! Yes, it does this say that it has been paid in 2022. However, I am reaching out today to respectfully request your assistance in submitting a goodwill deletion request to the collection bureaus to have this collection account removed from my credit report.

Thank you for your help in this very important matter!

user_xivq7a At this time, the account would have to remain on your credit report as a Satisfied Charge Off. It's not deleted from the report because it was paid.

Hello, yes, I am aware. However, even though it shows paid/ satisfied it still is negatively affecting my credit, which is why I respectfully and humbly ask Comcast / Xfinity to proceed with submitting a goodwill deletion request to the credit bureaus to have this collection account removed from my credit report, as this balance has been paid and it has been ~4 years since this time.

user_xivq7a As a consumer myself, I know how important it is to maintain as great of a credit history as possible. The issue in this instance is that we are not able to submit such a request as the account would need to remain with the reflected paid status.

I appreciate that. I have been told on a number of occasions that Xifinity/ Comcast has completed a goodwill deletion request to the credit bureaus for far larger outstanding balances etc. Is there a reason why I am not a candidate for help in this matter?

Hello,

I'm hoping someone from the Xfinity team can help me with a goodwill request regarding a paid collection account.

In April 2023, a final balance of approximately $50 on my former Xfinity account was inadvertently overlooked and was sent to Credit Collection Services (CCS). At the time, I was in the middle of relocating, and shortly afterward my wife and I welcomed our first child. Between the move and adjusting to life with a newborn, this small final balance unfortunately slipped through the cracks. As soon as I became aware of it, I paid the balance in full.

I'm now working to clean up my credit report, and this paid collection is the only negative item remaining. I understand the balance was valid, and I take full responsibility for missing it. This was an isolated oversight and not representative of my normal payment history.

I understand CCS no longer services Xfinity accounts, but I was hoping Xfinity might be willing to submit a goodwill request or otherwise request that CCS remove the paid collection tradeline from my credit reports. I realize this is entirely at Xfinity's discretion, but I would sincerely appreciate any assistance or consideration you can provide.

If additional information is needed to locate my former account, I'd be happy to provide it through a private message.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
