Gigabit x2
Two days ago, I upgraded my account to Gigabit x2 and when the order was completed, I noticed that my download speeds were still 1 Gbps. I called customer service, and a technician came out to inspect my coax lines. He did notice signal loss and replaced one of the lines. After that everything on his end (signal quality) was as expected but my speeds were still 1 Gbps not 2 Gbps. He called his supervisor and eventually they found out that my neighborhood does not support Gigabit x2. Unfortunately, they had to downgrade my account back to 1Gbps.
So, my questions are:
- Is there any way for me to get an ETA or possible future plans when xfinity/comcast will upgrade my neighborhood to support Gigabit x2?
- Is there anything that I can do to get xfinity/comcast to upgrade my neighborhood sooner than later?
- Is the reason why my neighborhood doesn't support Gigabit x2 because they haven't fully rolled out their backbone to use mid-split yet?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
